On February 17, 2026, the Missionary Commission of the Salesian Province of Mumbai (INB) joyfully welcomed Fr Pavel Zenisek SDB, member of the Mission Sector and part of the Salesian Missionary Volunteering Advisory Team in Rome, at a special gathering hosted at Don Bosco Bhingar and Don Bosco Savedi.
Fr Pavel met the Province Missionary Commission, who are led by Fr Michael Bansode, the Provincial Delegate for Missionary Animation, offered a broad and inspiring view of the global Salesian missionary activity. The interactive session that followed allowed the commission members to share reflections, clarify concerns, and explore ways to enhance missionary animation and the volunteer involvement across the Province.
Fr Richard D'silva, the Rector of Don Bosco Savedi, welcomed Fr Pavel as he consecrated at the Holy Eucharist in the parish. At the end of the Eucharist, a booklet titled “Salesian Mission Legacy – Seminar Reflections”, the fruit of the Salesian Mission Seminar held on November 11, 2025 at the Provincial House, Matunga, was released by Fr Pavel. The first copies were handed to the community members of Don Bosco Savedi.
The booklet contains two enriching talks delivered by Bishop Thomas at the Seminar and some other brief write-ups on missionary themes. Since the seminar talks were received with great appreciation for their depth and relevance, the Commission felt that making the matter available to a wider audience would be beneficial. This booklet serves as a heartfelt tribute to the rich missionary heritage of the Salesian Congregation and seeks to inspire renewed missionary zeal especially within the increasingly volatile context of India. By fostering reflection and deeper awareness, the publication aims to encourage every member of the Salesian Family to embrace their missionary vocation with conviction, courage, and hope.
The day ended with a fraternal dinner hosted by the Salesian Community of Savedi, where several Salesians serving in the Ahmednagar region joined in fellowship. The entire event proved to be a meaningful moment of unity, reflection, and renewed missionary dedication for the INB Province.
