On August 28 and 29, 2026, Don Bosco School & Junior College, Nashik, proudly participated in DBISMUN 2026, the fifth edition of the prestigious interschool Model United Nations Conference held at Don Bosco International School, Matunga, Mumbai.

The school was represented by five enthusiastic and confident student delegates, accompanied by Tr Anagha Dusane and Tr Rebecca Khisty. The delegates participated in various committees: Gunjan Bhati represented SOCHUM (Junior); Anshika Yadav and Palak Bhuptani represented UNHRC; while Arya Wankhede and Samruddhi Rajput represented ECOFIN.

The conference provided the students with an enriching platform to engage in diplomatic discussions, research, public speaking, negotiation and critical thinking. The delegates actively participated in committee proceedings, presenting their perspectives, responding thoughtfully to arguments and collaborating with fellow delegates from various schools.

The event offered the students an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and understand contemporary global issues from diverse perspectives. Through this experience, they developed confidence, leadership skills, effective communication, diplomacy and teamwork.

Fr Ajoy Fernandes, Director of Don Bosco International School, spoke about the deeper purpose of Model United Nations and highlighted the importance of diplomacy, empathy, communication and understanding different national viewpoints.

The keynote speaker, Swara Bhasker, encouraged the young delegates to view platforms like MUN not merely as competitions, but as opportunities to listen, question, think critically and understand diverse perspectives. She emphasised the importance of young people becoming aware, articulate and engaged citizens who can contribute positively to society.

Ms Meena Saldanha, Principal of Don Bosco International School, also highlighted the importance of DBISMUN in nurturing students beyond academics and providing them with meaningful experiential learning opportunities.

Our delegates represented their respective committees with enthusiasm, confidence and maturity, making the most of this valuable learning experience. DBISMUN 2026 proved to be a significant experiential learning opportunity, encouraging our students to become informed, articulate and responsible young citizens with a deeper understanding of the world around them.
