On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the Diocese of Baroda, a three-day spiritual retreat was organized for the faithful of the parish from October 9 to 11, 2026. The retreat provided an opportunity for the participants to deepen their faith, renew their relationship with Jesus Christ, and experience His healing and forgiving love.
The retreat was animated by Mr Lawrence Andrandes and Mr Valerian Rodrigues, members of the Shield of Faith group from Vasai. Through their insightful explanations of the Scriptures, inspiring personal testimonies, and experiences shared from their ministry, the preachers helped the faithful reflect on the Word of God and its relevance to their daily lives. Their sharing offered practical guidance on living a Christ-centred life and facing the challenges of the modern world with faith, courage, and hope.
Each day of the retreat was marked by prayer, reflection, and spiritual enrichment. The participants were encouraged to examine their lives, strengthen their trust in God, and recognize His presence in their joys, struggles, and personal experiences. The preachers also addressed various issues and difficulties faced by the faithful, offering spiritual insights and guidance rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
A special day was dedicated to healing and reconciliation. Through prayer, reflection, and opportunities for spiritual renewal, the faithful were invited to surrender their burdens to the Lord, seek forgiveness, and restore their relationship with God and one another. This meaningful experience helped many participants encounter the compassionate and healing presence of Jesus in a personal way.
The retreat became a time of grace, bringing the parish community together in faith and fellowship for 46 faithfuls of the parish who attended the retreat. The testimonies shared by the preachers made the sessions relatable and inspiring, reminding the faithful that God's transforming power continues to work in the lives of those who place their trust in Him.
At the conclusion of the retreat, Fr George Carlos, the parish priest, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr Andrandes and Mr Rodrigues for their invaluable presence, dedicated service, and inspiring ministry. He appreciated their efforts in guiding the faithful towards a deeper spiritual experience and a renewed commitment to Christian living.
The three-day retreat concluded with hearts renewed in faith and a stronger desire to live the Gospel values. As the Diocese of Baroda celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, the retreat served as a fitting spiritual preparation, encouraging the faithful to continue their journey of faith with renewed hope, unity, and commitment to Christ.
