Teachers dedicate themselves completely to the well-being of students under their care and nurture future changemakers making them capable of shaping the world at large. Celebrated on September 5, Teachers’ Day honors these very individuals who are mentors, guides, role models, and builders of character. Here’s a look at how students in the INB Province paid tribute to their teachers.

Celebrations began as early as September 3 for Don Bosco Nerul Oratory where students put up creative and entertaining performances for the teachers of the oratory leaving no stone unturned to show how much they cherish their teachers. Fr Allwyn Misquitta, the Vice Rector and Oratory In-charge welcomed everyone and reminded the students that teachers are not just educators but mentors who go the extra mile to mould the character of students. This was followed by performances of dance, song and a rib-tickling skit by the students which was thoroughly enjoyed by the staff. A thrilling relay game followed, conducted for the teachers. Breaking away from their usual classroom roles, teachers participated with childlike enthusiasm, cheered loudly by their students. The celebration concluded on a high note with an electrifying jam session for the oratory children.

Teachers’ Day at St Dominic Savio High School, Andheri was celebrated over two joyful days, September 3 and 4, 2026. The celebrations began on Thursday, September 3, with the Nursery, Pre-Primary and Primary sections expressing their gratitude through prayer, music, laughter and heartfelt gestures which was followed by fun-filled games. On September 4, the Secondary Section began the day with the felicitation of teachers, followed by engaging games and words of appreciation from the students. The Sr KG children presented a delightful welcome song, followed by an address by the Rector and Manager, Fr Francisco Pereira. The celebration continued with the Holy Eucharist, with Fr Pereira as the Main Celebrant. The two-day celebration concluded with games and a fellowship meal, along with the felicitation of retired teachers, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the school’s journey and legacy.

Don Bosco English and Gujarati Medium School, Kawant, celebrated Teachers’ Day with appreciation for the dedicated service of its teachers. The entire day’s celebration was thoughtfully organised by the Students’ Council, bringing together students, teachers, PTA members and past pupils. The celebration began with the students of Class 10 taking on the role of teachers and conducting classes for the students of the lower grades. The celebrations continued in the classrooms, where the class teachers and subject teachers were felicitated by the students. The main programme included a comedy skit, lively dance performances and a series of entertaining quizzes for the teachers. Fr Mayank Parmar, Rector and Manager of the institution, addressed the gathering by acknowledging the contribution of the teachers in shaping and guiding the students. The celebration concluded with a festive meal for the teachers.

Don Bosco ITI, Chinchwad, celebrated Teachers’ Day with a programme conducted by the students to honour their teachers. The celebration also included the investiture ceremony of class monitors and assistant class monitors of first-year and second-year trades for the academic year 2026–2027. The event brought together the management, staff members, instructors, and trainees of Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad. The programme was organised by the trainees under the guidance of the Prefect of Studies, Fr Bosco. The celebration gave the trainees an opportunity to express their feelings through speeches, cultural performances, and messages dedicated to the teaching staff. As part of the same programme, the investiture ceremony was conducted and Rector Fr Shekar Mariadas of Don Bosco Chinchwad congratulated the newly appointed class monitors and assistant class monitors. By conducting the Teachers’ Day celebration and participating in the investiture ceremony, the trainees showed confidence, coordination, and leadership skills.

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Don Bosco High School, Makarpura, Vadodara. The celebration began with students felicitating their teachers in their respective classes. The Student Council had the opportunity to experience the role of teachers by conducting lessons and interacting with their classmates. A special message was delivered by Fr Brian Moras, the Manager of the school, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers for their sincere efforts and hard work. The celebration also included melodious songs, lively dance performances and fun party games which allowed the teachers and support staff to relax, participate, and enjoy some memorable moments together. The day concluded with a renewed sense of gratitude and respect for all the teachers and support staff who work tirelessly for the growth and success of the school and its students.

On September 6, 2026, Resurrection Church in Virar East came alive with joy as Teachers’ Day was celebrated following the 8 a.m. Mass. After Mass, all teachers were honoured with gifts, roses, and certificates as a token of appreciation and gratitude by Fr Thomas D'costa, Parish Priest. The celebration continued in the church hall at 9 a.m. with the youth animating the entire programme with the help of the Sunday school children. The celebration continued with a lively group action song performed by the Catechism children followed by games organized for the teachers. The celebration concluded with photo sessions capturing beautiful moments with the teachers.

The gratitude expressed by students and management at these places of learning truly reflects the impact created by the teachers who continue shaping the minds and hearts of those placed under their care.
