KAWANT, GUJARAT – October 2, 2026: Don Bosco Kawant celebrated the Feast of the Guardian Angels with a special programme organised for the boys of the boarding. The celebration highlighted the Salesian tradition of recognising the brother assistant as a guardian angel who accompanies, guides and supports the boys entrusted to his care.
In the Salesian tradition, the brother assistant has a special role in the life of the boarding community. He is not only responsible for the discipline and daily activities of the boys but also accompanies them with care, guidance and concern. At Don Bosco Kawant, Cl. Joseph serves as the brother assistant and is regarded as the guardian angel of the boarding boys.
Cl. Joseph is supported in this mission by a team of boarding masters who work closely with the boys and contribute to their daily formation and well-being. The team includes Bharsingh Sir, Raoji Master, Sevendra Sir, Akash Sir, Dhanka Master and Vikash Sir. The Feast of the Guardian Angels provided an occasion for the boys to acknowledge and appreciate the service and accompaniment of each of them.
The programme was organised in a spirit of gratitude, fraternity and family. Under the guidance of Fr Agnel, Prefect of Studies, the boys formed a family circle by themselves. The gathering created an atmosphere in which the boys could freely express their appreciation and affection towards their guardian angels.
The cultural programme added joy and enthusiasm to the celebration. The students of Class 9 presented a dance, followed by a dance performance by the students of Class 8. The boys also delivered special addresses dedicated to each of the guardian angels. Through their words, they expressed their gratitude for the guidance, encouragement, discipline and care they receive from the boarding staff.
The celebration was further enriched by a song presented by Husmukh Sir, which added a musical dimension to the gathering. The guardian angels were subsequently felicitated by the boys as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service and daily accompaniment.
The programme concluded with encouraging words from Fr Mayank Parmar, Rector and Manager, who addressed each of the guardian angels individually. He appreciated their commitment to the boarding community and encouraged them to continue accompanying the boys with patience, understanding and dedication.
The celebration of the Guardian Angels Feast was a meaningful expression of the Salesian spirit of family. It reminded the boys of the people who accompany them in their journey of growth and formation and provided an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of trust, gratitude and fraternity within the boarding community.
