Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Nerul celebrated Janmashtami on September 2, 2026 with immense joy, enthusiasm, and a vibrant festive spirit. The programme successfully brought together the children of Nursery, Junior KG, and Senior KG in the Ground Floor Assembly Hall. The celebration commenced with a simple and engaging narrative on the birth and life of Lord Krishna, helping the young learners connect with universal virtues such as love, kindness, and righteousness. To make the learning experience meaningful and age-appropriate, teachers introduced festival-related vocabulary, including pot, feather, butter, sweets, and flute.

The celebration was graced by Supervisor Mrs Mahek Khan, who warmly interacted with and encouraged the children. Rector Dr Fr Barnabe D’Souza, Principal Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, and Administrator Fr Allwyn Misquitta also joined the gathering, offering their motivation and support to the young learners. The central highlight of the event was an interactive, step-by-step demonstration of the traditional process of making ghee. The children eagerly observed the entire transformation: starting with milk, collecting the rich malai (cream), churning it into fresh butter, and finally heating and boiling the butter until the water evaporated, leaving behind golden ghee. This experiential activity successfully connected traditional household knowledge with practical learning, sparking curiosity and sensory inquiry among the young students.

The excitement continued with the traditional Matki Phod activity, where the children enthusiastically worked together to break a creatively designed cardboard pot, celebrating their joint success. The celebration then flowed into a lively music and dance session that filled the hall with laughter and active participation. A class-wise photo session captured these memorable, happy moments of childhood. The day concluded on a joyful note, leaving the young learners with wonderful memories, a warm sense of belonging, and a deeper connection to cherished traditions.
