Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, organised an engaging Career Presentation Programme on Thursday, October 29, 2026, presented by the students of Class XI Commerce B. The programme focused on the theme of Startups and Entrepreneurship, aiming to familiarise students with emerging career opportunities, innovation, business management and the challenges of establishing a successful venture.
The programme was attended by the school management, dignitaries, teachers and students. The esteemed guest speaker, Mr Pushya Modi, Communications Lead at Cospire and founder of Cycora, a healthcare brand, was warmly welcomed and felicitated. His experience in communication, marketing and entrepreneurship offered students an opportunity to gain valuable industry perspectives.
As part of the programme, Mr Pushya Modi also conducted a one-hour workshop for students of Classes IX and XI. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to engage with the guest speaker and gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, innovation and the skills required to explore future career opportunities.
The presentation began with an entertaining skit titled “Startup”, which portrayed a group of students attempting to launch a smart water bottle named HydraSmart. Through humorous situations involving unrealistic budgets, inadequate market research, technical difficulties and competition, the skit highlighted the importance of planning, teamwork, financial management, customer understanding and calculated risk-taking. It conveyed the message that failure can become a valuable learning experience when accompanied by reflection and improvement.
Following the skit, the students presented informative insights into entrepreneurship as a career. They discussed educational pathways after Classes X and XII, including courses in commerce, business administration, economics and technology. Various career avenues, leading institutions, scholarships, financial support schemes, startup incentives and indicative salary packages were also highlighted. The presentation further explained the five key pillars of management—planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling—and encouraged students to study successful startups to understand their strategies and challenges.
The guest speaker was invited to share his insights and experiences, inspiring students to explore entrepreneurship with curiosity, adaptability and determination. The programme emphasised that successful ventures require more than innovative ideas; they demand effective execution, responsible decision-making and continuous learning.
The event concluded with the announcement of the CCA results for the Photography and Reading activities, followed by the Vote of Thanks and the School Anthem.
Overall, the Career Presentation Programme and the accompanying workshop were informative, interactive and inspiring. They provided students with valuable career awareness and reinforced the importance of transforming ideas into practical solutions through innovation, perseverance and sound management.
