“Be holy, because I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16
Under the loving guidance of our Parish Priest, Fr Savio D’Souza SDB, and our Spiritual Guide, Fr Jaison Anthikkat SDB, the Ushers Ministry joyfully organized the “Dress Like Saints” Contest on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 in celebration of All Saints’ Day at the St Therese of Child Jesus Parish, Salmiya, Kuwait. The event received an overwhelming response, attracting 76 enthusiastic young participants across three age categories: 4–7 years, 8–11 years, and 12–18 years. The remarkable participation and excitement made the event a wonderful success!
The contest was more than just a celebration of creativity and costumes; it was a meaningful opportunity for children to learn about the lives of the Saints, their unwavering faith, courage, humility and love for God. It encouraged them to draw inspiration from these role models and discover that holiness is a calling for everyone.
It was truly heartwarming to witness the little ones beautifully portraying various Saints, including St Thérèse of the Child Jesus, St Michael the Archangel and many others. Each participant brought their chosen Saint to life with enthusiasm and devotion, filling the parish with joy, inspiration and a beautiful spirit of faith.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the tremendous support and encouragement of the parents. Their dedication, creativity and efforts in preparing their children so thoughtfully is deeply appreciated. Their involvement played a vital role in making this celebration both memorable and spiritually enriching.
As part of the All-Saints’ Day celebrations, the participants were in the entrance procession during the 6:30 p.m. Holy Mass on All Saints’ Day, Sunday, November 1, 2026, adding a special touch of reverence and joy to this solemn occasion.
The Ushers Ministry Core Members Alfred Fernandes, Shirley Dias & Priya Pinto extended their heartfelt gratitude to our Parish Priest, Spiritual Guide, parents, participants, judges, volunteers and everyone who contributed to making this event a wonderful success. Their collective efforts and support helped create a beautiful celebration that strengthened our parish community and inspired our children to follow the path of holiness.
May the lives and examples of all the Saints continue to guide our children and our entire parish community closer to Christ.
