Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Nerul celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm and festive spirit on Friday, October 30, 2026, in the Food Court Area of the school. The celebration brought together children and teachers from Nursery, Jr KG and Sr KG to enjoy the festival of lights through a variety of fun-filled and meaningful activities.
As a part of the pre-celebration activities, two days prior to Diwali, children participated in creative classroom activities according to their respective levels. The Nursery children enjoyed making beautiful diyas using their fingerprints, which were later displayed outside their classrooms, adding a colourful festive touch to the surroundings. The Jr KG children participated in a collaborative rangoli-making activity using bottle caps, encouraging creativity and teamwork. The Sr KG children explored their creativity by making decorative lanterns using plastic bottles, promoting the reuse of materials.
The celebration on October 30 began with an engaging puppet show for all three sections, which conveyed the message of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali and spreading happiness without bursting crackers. The lively presentation helped children understand the importance of celebrating Diwali in a safe and environment-friendly manner.
Following the puppet show, an exciting picture-based game and listening game was conducted in their respective classrooms. Children participated enthusiastically in the activities, which encouraged observation, listening skills and active participation. The games provided an enjoyable opportunity for children to learn through play.
Adding to the festive spirit, children brought sweets and savouries from home and joyfully shared them with their friends and teachers. This activity encouraged the values of sharing, caring and togetherness. The celebration concluded with a lively jam session in the respective classrooms, where children enjoyed music, dance and cheerful moments with their classmates.
The Diwali celebration was a wonderful blend of creativity, learning, fun and cultural values. The activities provided children with opportunities to express themselves, work collaboratively and understand the importance of sharing, kindness and celebrating festivals responsibly. The day concluded on a happy note, leaving our little learners with beautiful memories and the true spirit of Diwali – spreading light, love and happiness.
