The Don Bosco Edu Complex, Yerwada, welcomed Fr Ashley Miranda, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Mumbai, on October 7, 2026. The visit brought together the different sections of the institution and provided an opportunity for students, teachers, past pupils and parishioners to interact with the Provincial.

Saee Chowgule from the College Section presented a short and meaningful citation highlighting the significance of the visit. As a token of love and appreciation, a shawl and a sapling were presented to the Provincial. The Secondary Section students presented an energetic dance performance.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Miranda reminded everyone of the need to be bridges of peace. He stressed that there should be no distinction among people and encouraged everyone to support one another and become agents of peace in society.
After the school ended, Fr Miranda met the staff of Don Bosco Edu Complex. He appreciated the teachers for the efforts they make for the children and encouraged them to believe in every child and help each one develop his or her God-given potential. Such efforts, he said, make the work of a teacher worthwhile and help make society and the world a better place.
The Provincial also spoke about the greatest gift that can be given to children is belief in them. Referring to the vision of Don Bosco, he encouraged teachers to help children grow in different dimensions of life and to appreciate the many blessings they receive. He reminded everyone that gratitude and good values help young people become responsible and good citizens who can build a better society.
Fr Miranda then met the past pupils of the institution. He expressed his joy at seeing former students returning to the institution as teachers and described their presence as a blessing. He encouraged them to continue their good work and to be positive role models for the present generation of students.
In the evening, Fr Miranda celebrated the 6 p.m. Eucharist for the parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish, Yerwada. In his homily, he encouraged the faithful to deepen their devotion to Our Lady and to pray the Rosary. He explained that the different decades of the Rosary help us reflect on the mysteries of Christ.
Later, he met the Parish Council members thanked them for their service and encouraged them to work together with the priests. He reminded them that the church belongs to everyone and stressed the importance of listening and respecting each other’s views
