Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Lonavla, hosted its annual Singing Competition on Thursday,  providing students with a stage to demonstrate their vocal talent, musical ability and creativity.

The programme opened with the welcome of the special guests, followed by the introduction and felicitation of judges and management. The judging panel comprised Mr Sunil Koparkar and Mrs Elizabeth Walanj. 

The competition was organised in three categories: Category A for students of Classes V to VII, Category B for Classes VIII to X, and Category C for Junior College students of Classes XI and XII.

Participants displayed enthusiasm and versatility through a range of performances. While some students presented melodious solo songs, others performed with soundtracks, and several accompanied their singing with musical instruments. The performances reflected dedication, confidence and musical skill, keeping the audience engaged throughout the event. Organisers stated that the competition aimed to provide a platform for young singers to showcase their abilities and artistic expression.

Following the performances, the judges addressed the gathering, offering appreciation and constructive feedback to participants. In a special highlight of the programme, both judges performed songs for the audience, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the event.

The programme concluded with the announcement of winners and the distribution of certificates. In Category A, Ashish Rawat (VI) secured first place; Aradhya Jadhav (V) and Shivam Gholap (VII) shared second place; and Huzaifa Khan (V) finished third. In Category B, Aiden Fernandes (X) won first place, followed by Shaun Joshi (X) in second and Alphonse (X) in third. In Category C, Parth Khandagale (XII Science) claimed first place, Piyush Rawat (XI Arts) secured second, and Furqan Pathan (XII Commerce) finished third.

A Vote of Thanks brought the event to a close, marking the end of what the organising teachers described as an inspiring and melodious day for Don Bosco Lonavla as student-singers showcased soulful songs.
