The Past Pupils Association of Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Naigaon East, organised a vibrant day of Garba with the aim of promoting solidarity, strengthening bonds of brotherhood and bringing together school students, college students and past pupils in a spirit of unity and celebration. The event was organised on Sunday, October 11, 2026, under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, Fr Anthony Fonseca, and was exclusively for the students and alumni of Don Bosco.
With around 600 entries, the school hall was transformed into a lively festive arena, beautifully decorated with colourful lights and decorations. Disco lights added to the excitement, creating an energetic atmosphere that encouraged participants to immerse themselves in the joy of Garba. A special selfie point provided students and alumni with an opportunity to capture memorable moments and cherish the bonds they share with the Don Bosco family.
To ensure that everyone had an opportunity to participate comfortably, separate Garba sessions were organised for different age groups throughout the day. Each session brought its own enthusiasm, rhythm and energy to the dance floor, as participants celebrated togetherness through the colourful traditions of Garba. The excitement was further enhanced by prizes for the Best Dancer and Best Outfit, along with a lucky draw that added an element of surprise and anticipation to the celebration.
The Past Pupil Committee played a vital role in the smooth conduct of the event. Through careful planning, active supervision and constant vigilance, the committee ensured that the programme remained well-organised, disciplined and enjoyable for everyone. Their dedicated efforts reflected the spirit of responsibility, cooperation and service that lies at the heart of the Don Bosco tradition.
More than just a celebration of music and dance, the Garba Utsav was a powerful reminder that being a Boscoite is a bond that transcends age, time and generations. It provided a valuable opportunity for students and past pupils to reconnect, strengthen friendships and celebrate the shared values and experiences that unite them as one Don Bosco family.
The event beautifully reflected the Salesian spirit of joy, fellowship and belonging, reinforcing the belief that the Don Bosco connection does not end with graduation but continues throughout life. As the music faded and the celebrations drew to a close, the memories created, friendships renewed and bonds strengthened remained as lasting reminders of the occasion. The Garba Utsav was not merely a day on the dance floor; it was a celebration of a lifelong connection with Don Bosco—a bond that continues to grow stronger with every generation of Boscoites.
