The programme commenced at 4 p.m. with the registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer led by Fr Diego Nunes, Spiritual Director of the Senior Citizens’ Association, who invoked God’s blessings on the gathering.
A major highlight of the celebration was the outdoor tele-games organised by the altar servers and the youth. The senior citizens participated enthusiastically in the games, reliving their childhood memories and filling the campus with laughter and cheer. The selfie point, bearing the caption “Live Your Life and Forget Your Age,” was another popular attraction. Many participants seized the opportunity to capture memorable moments, reflecting the spirit of the day—that age is no barrier to happiness, friendship and enjoying life to the fullest.
Fr Solomon Rapol, the Rector, introduced Mrs Maisha Bonde, Chief Dietician at Karuna Hospital, Mumbai, who conducted an informative session on healthy eating habits. She highlighted the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet and offered practical guidance on making suitable dietary choices to maintain good health and well-being in later life.
The entertainment continued with a lively game of Housie and a lucky draw, adding to the excitement of the evening. Fr Osborn Furtado, the Parish Priest, said the grace before meals, after which the participants shared a meal together. The celebration then moved to the dance floor, where the senior citizens enthusiastically tapped their feet to the music, creating a vibrant atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
Towards the conclusion of the programme, Fr Diego Nunes expressed his gratitude to all the participants for their enthusiastic presence and encouraging response.
