On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the campus of Resurrection Church in Virar East transformed into a vibrant sanctuary of hope and intercession. Immediately following the 8 a.m. Holy Mass, the parish community gathered in the church courtyard for a special Peace Rosary. This deeply moving spiritual event was entirely organized and conducted by the youth of the parish.
October is traditionally observed as the month of the Holy Rosary, a time when Catholics turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary to seek solace and peace. During this month, the statue of our Blessed Mother Mary is taken from house to house to around 20 communities. The area leader takes the responsibility of animating and organizing the Rosary service from house to house.
As the decades of the Rosary unfolded, the youth presented five deeply intentional intercessions:
1. Peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia
2. Peace in the Middle East
3. Peace and Unity in Manipur
4. Peace among the Youth who are unemployed and those struggling with mental issues
5. Peace within ourselves, family and communities where we live
A PPT was presented in the church before the Peace Rosary began by Mr Nihar Kore, highlighting the situations of the above places. Finally, the youth brought the prayer inward, reminding everyone that structural peace begins in the human heart. They invited the parish to pray for peace within us, asking for the grace to conquer personal anxieties, anger, and division so they could become true instruments of Christ's peace in their daily lives.
The event concluded with a sense of renewed hope. By taking the lead, the youth of Resurrection Church proved that the younger generation is not detached from the world's pain but deeply invested in its healing. As parishioners dispersed, the community felt strengthened, unified, and inspired by the spiritual leadership of the youth group.
