On November 3, 2026, the Don Bosco SAHYOGEE Department of Narukot Education Society (Don Bosco), Narukot, in collaboration with Mahavir Hospital, successfully organised a Free Medical Check-up and Medicine Distribution Camp at Narukot Education Society, Narukot. The initiative was undertaken with the aim of providing accessible healthcare services to the poor and needy members of the community, promoting health awareness and ensuring timely medical attention for those in need.
During the camp, a team of expert doctors from Mahavir Hospital conducted medical examinations and provided health consultations to the people who attended. Various health conditions, including leprosy, high blood pressure (BP), cataracts and skin diseases, were identified during the check-ups. The medical team also offered appropriate guidance and recommendations to beneficiaries regarding further treatment and medical care.
Around 16 patients who required specialised attention and detailed medical examinations were identified and advised to seek further treatment at CHC Jambughoda, Mahavir Hospital, Bodeli, and other major hospitals. This referral support ensured that patients requiring additional medical assistance could be guided towards appropriate healthcare facilities.
Medicines were distributed free of cost to the patients according to their medical needs. Hospital files were also prepared for the beneficiaries to facilitate future medical consultations, treatment and follow-up. All medical check-ups, medicines and other services provided during the camp were completely free of cost, ensuring that financial difficulties did not become a barrier to accessing basic healthcare.
A total of approximately 134 people benefited from the medical camp, including 73 women, 36 men and 25 children from the Don Bosco Boys' Hostel. Special attention was given to poor and needy individuals above 40 years of age, along with the children residing in the hostel. The participation of community members reflected the importance of such initiatives in bringing essential healthcare services closer to those who need them most.
The camp served as a meaningful step towards promoting community health and well-being. It not only provided medical check-ups, medicines and referrals for further treatment but also created awareness about the importance of timely diagnosis, preventive healthcare and regular medical examinations. The initiative highlighted the commitment of the Don Bosco SAHYOGEE Department towards caring for the health and well-being of the marginalised and underprivileged sections of society.
The Don Bosco SAHYOGEE Department sincerely expresses its gratitude to the expert doctors and the entire team of Mahavir Hospital for their valuable support, dedicated service and cooperation in making the camp a success. Through this collaborative endeavour, Narukot Education Society reaffirmed its commitment to serving the community with compassion and care, recognising that good health is an essential foundation for a dignified and meaningful life.
