KAWANT, October 21, 2026: DISHA Don Bosco Kawant organised a government welfare schemes camp at the primary school in Rendha village, Kawant Taluka, on October 21, 2026. The camp aimed to help villagers understand and benefit from various government schemes intended to support individuals and families in need.
Many people in rural and tribal areas are unaware of the government benefits available to them. Others find it difficult to complete the necessary paperwork or follow the procedures required to receive these benefits. As a result, families who need support may remain deprived of assistance meant for them. The camp was organised to address these difficulties and guide villagers through the necessary processes.
A total of 48 people, including 34 women and 14 men, participated in the camp. They received assistance with various services, including e-Shram cards, widow and old-age pensions, ration card KYC, and requests to add or remove names from ration cards. These services addressed some of the common difficulties faced by families while dealing with government offices and completing official formalities.
For many families, receiving a pension or having the correct details on a ration card can make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Similarly, e-Shram registration can help eligible workers connect with relevant government welfare provisions. By providing guidance and support at the village level, the camp helped people take the necessary steps towards receiving the benefits for which they were eligible.
The camp also gave villagers an opportunity to discuss their individual concerns and seek help with their specific requirements. Such efforts are particularly important in rural communities, where travelling to government offices and understanding official procedures can be challenging. Personal guidance can help people feel more confident in dealing with these processes.
Fr Dr Mayank Parmar, Director of DISHA Don Bosco Kawant, attended the camp along with Hasmukh Christian, Programme Officer, and other staff members of the organisation. Local community leader Powersingh and Yuvrajsinh, a Village Education Programme (VEP) teacher, were also present.
The participation of local representatives reflected the importance of working together to respond to the needs of the community. Their involvement helped strengthen the connection between the villagers and the support provided by DISHA Don Bosco Kawant.
The camp formed part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to stand alongside rural and tribal communities and help them benefit from government welfare schemes. Through such initiatives, DISHA Don Bosco Kawant seeks to ensure that a lack of information or difficulties with paperwork do not prevent eligible families from receiving essential support.
By bringing guidance closer to the people, the organisation continues to work towards a community in which families are better informed, individuals receive the support they need, and government welfare benefits reach those for whom they are intended.
