BIS #6251 DSBH Andheri's online Christmas
by Cleric Nevelle Coutinho for BISMumbai
The boarders of St. Dominic Savio Boys' Home at Andheri, were all invited to an online Christmas celebration on 23 December, as everything has been happening online for the past 10 months. The celebration began in the afternoon, with greetings, after which Rector-Father Brian Moras addressed the boys wishing them and their families a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and safe New Year. This was followed by a Christmas carol, with everyone joining in.
Most of the items slated for the afternoon were 'surprise' games, such as: “If you were Santa Claus, what present would you give yourself, and why?” – which the boys were expected to respond to, with intelligent, funny, heartfelt or creative answers. One said he would gift himself the ability to be his mother’s father, so that he could make her study, just like how she makes him study! Haydn Dias then showed the boys a humourous video clip, enacted by children – a story set a little before Jesus came down to Earth as a baby, as imagined by a child. A well-designed online Christmas quiz, turned out to be very thrilling and competitive, with result-analysis, that was quite insightful and interesting as well.
Father Ranson D'Souza addressed the boys reiterating the importance of regular attendance of the school’s online sessions, and urged the boys to take their studies seriously, especially those who are in classes IX and X. The celebration ended on a happy note, and the entire DSBH family eagerly awaits the physical interactions, once again in 2021.
