Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra (DBVPK), Chinchwad, commenced its academic year on 15 September 2023, with great enthusiasm and fervour. This auspicious occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Bishop John Rodrigues, Bishop of the Diocese of Pune, whose maiden visit to the institution made the day even more special.

The commencement of the new academic year was the culmination of a week-long initiation programme specially designed for the incoming first-year students, which was aimed at familiarising the newcomers with the institution's ethos, values, and the comprehensive educational experience that awaited them.

The day unfolded with a warm and traditional Nashik Dhol reception as a grand gesture to welcome Bishop Rodrigues. Following this energetic musical welcome, a short felicitation ceremony ensued, during which the Bishop was formally greeted with a welcome song that resonated with heartfelt warmth. Fr Anton D'Souza, the Rector, took the opportunity to introduce the chief guest to the gathered staff and students. In his introduction, Fr D'Souza underlined the significance of the Bishop's visit, emphasising that it marked an auspicious beginning for the institute as it embarked on another academic journey. Mr Nilesh Chandgude, the Principal, provided a succinct overview of the courses offered by DBVPK. He also shed light on the institute's commendable progress in its mission to empower underprivileged youth with valuable technical skills, equipping them to face the challenges of the world beyond their educational journey. 

Bishop Rodrigues congratulated Don Bosco Chinchwad for the work it is doing and for the academic results achieved last year. He also gave his best wishes to the staff and students as they began their new academic year, encouraging them to keep up the standard set in past years. 

To infuse a sense of artistic and cultural flair into the event, a group of students mesmerised the audience with an energetic and synchronised group dance performance. This showcase of talent exemplified the diverse skills and creativity that thrive within the institute's vibrant community. Additionally, a second-year student, showcased his melodious voice by singing a song dedicated to Bishop Rodrigues, adding a musical touch to the occasion.

The inauguration of the new academic year at DBVPK was a momentous event that reinforced the institution's dedication to providing quality education and fostering a nurturing environment for its students. As the academic year unfolds, there is a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement, as the institution continues to uphold its legacy of excellence in education and social empowerment.
