BIS 6995 Second E-Mobility Workshop Inaugurated at DB Aurangabad

By Fr Jesu Robinson for BISMumbai

A second E-Mobility workshop was inaugurated on 1 August 2023 at Don Bosco, Aurangabad, by Mr Ravindra Desmukh, the Electric Vehicle (EV) distributor of the Aurangabad region. This is indeed a great sign of progress in EV technology to uplift the youth of the Aurangabad district. This workshed is built especially for practical sessions, during which the students can get hands-on experience with EV vehicles.

Mr Deshmukh, the chief guest, inaugurated the workshop along with Mr Girish Biradar, the Managing Director of GGB Industries. Fr Briston Britto blessed the workshop after a moment of prayer, seeking blessings for the success of the institute's endeavours in promoting the future of the youth.

Later, the chief guest and the guests of honour were felicitated with topi, uparna and a flower sapling. During a short programme organised on this occasion, the instructor and other speakers highlighted the future of EV and how it would bring about a lot of development in the country. Mr Deshmukh gave an overall picture of EV industries with his wide experience with many industries and institutes. He said that 380 companies in India have already registered for the EV trade, and big job opportunities and businesses are on the way for the youth in Aurangabad.

During the programme, the outgoing students of the EV course enacted a mime showcasing their six-month training programme. Ten students completed the course successfully with On Job Training (OJT) and lots of practical knowledge. These students were awarded gifts and certificates for completing the course.

Mr Deshmukh expressed his delight with the initiative taken up by the Salesians to guide the youth to build their careers in the EV sector. He remarked, “What the students are getting here is a treasure, a value that cannot be measured.” Mr Subhash Rupekar, one of the students of the outgoing batch, said, “I am going to use all my skills and learning in my work, and God willing, I will start my own workshop.”

Br Alex Gonsalves expressed words of gratitude to all present for the event and said that this was yet another important milestone for Don Bosco, Aurangabad.
