Youth Pasch
The Youth Pasch for the Pune region was held at DBYC, Pune from 13 to 25 April 2022. A total of 25 participants participated from the nearby parishes. This is the first time the Pasch was held in Pune. The participants were given a chance to encounter the full Easter triduum from Maundy Thursday to Easter vigil.
Confirmation retreat
A retreat for the confirmation students of the Good Shepherd Parish was conducted on 23-24 April 2022 at Medical Mission Sisters, Bibvewadi. A total of 30 students and 07 animators were a part of this retreat. There were several sessions conducted by the parish priest and the teacher in charge. Other activities included spiritual camp fire, taize prayer service, labyrinth and meditative walk to sunrise point.
One day recollection
One day recollection was conducted along with Holy Cross Church, Dhapodi, for the Catechism children at DBYC, Koregaon Park on 25 April 2022. 71 students along with 07 teachers arrived at the venue at 9 am. The day began with action songs and games conducted by Father Osborn Furtado. This was followed by breakfast and screening of the movie Fatima (2020). Lunch was immediately followed by an intense and fun-filled treasure hunt. The day came to an end with the Eucharist, presided over by Father Vivian D’Souza.
Leadership camps boys and girl
Leadership camps for the Pune region was conducted at Boscowadi, Uttan, from 04 – 06 May 2022 for boys and on 11-13 May 2022 for girls. There were 12 boys and 52 girls in total. The camp included input session on being leaders in various areas, fun activities like making key chains and pottery, treks, cool in pool, beach games, camp fire and 30 seconds to fame. Eucharist and rosary service were daily devotionally celebrated.
Skating camp 25 April – 01 May and 16 May to 20 May
Skating summer camp was conducted from 25 April – 01 May 2022 and 16 May – 20 May 2022, on the basketball court. The poor people of the vicinity and the children of migrant workers are the beneficiaries of the camp. The children of the summer camp were welcomed by Fr Osborn Furtado and was inaugurated on 25 April at 9 am by Father Ian Doulton, the Rector. In his inaugural speech he spoke about being grateful in our lives. This camp will be held for a duration of a week, and in two batches. There are 60 children who participated in the same. Tehsin Shaikh of Don Bosco Suraksha, Pune was instrumental in gathering the children. Sanket and his father along with Cleric Melvin were the instructors.
