BIS #6002 CATECHETICAL CENTRE PUNE SHOOTS AND EDITS ONLINE FAITH CLASSES
by JMac for BISMumbai
The Mumbai Salesians' managed Diocesan Catechetical Centre at Koregaon Road Pune with the vision of learning, living and loving the faith, under the leadership of the new Catechetical Director Father Osborn Furtado commenced the shooting and editing of the recorded online classes for the communion and confirmation students of the Diocese of Pune.
A number of teachers from the various parishes of the Diocese were handpicked and chosen by their respective parish priests to be a part of the recording. In coordination with Lens Box Media. headed by Br Thomas Anthony OPraem and his team the recording commenced after a short introduction and a few words of caution regarding the delivery, inclusion of the individual teachers powerpoint slides and in editing the video along with the team.
The day began with enthusiasm and led to a good involvement of brothers of the community along with the teachers of the Diocese in preparing and executing their classes. The brothers helped the teachers by modifying and editing their power point presentations and helping them in the proper delivery of their videos. There was also a good synchronization of work, creativity and sharing the lesson plans.
Crispina D’costa remarked, “The lockdown has stopped us from coming together to share the faith with our children, but I am sure technology will not keep them away from God – this is indeed a wonderful opportunity to spread the faith, keep the faith and live the faith.”
The day ended with loads of success making way for the Catechetical centre to venture into this new field of technology and media with greater hope of spreading the Word of God, and reaching out to a number of students during this pandemic. Gathering in large numbers may have stopped but faith found its new asha kiran digitally.
