BIS #6463 STI Novices' day out

by Cleric Hubert Lyngdoh for BISMumbai

The Saleisan Training Institute community at Nashik celebrated a Novices' day out on 26 September, visiting St. Anne’s Cathedral (Nashik) and Devlali. In two vehicles, we started the trip at 9.30 a.m. We reached St. Anne’s Cathedral by 10.15 a.m. The visit was much enriched by the warm welcome of Father Peter and by the opportunity we got to behold the impressive paintings displayed in the hall of the Cathedral. After a brief time for photographs, we visited the Bishop’s house. We were welcomed by Mr. Anthony, the Bishop's secretary. We spent a few minutes and had some tea and snacks. We conveyed our thanks through a card and a small token of gratitude.

At 11 am, we moved towards Devlali. We were welcomed by Fathers Pius and Vincent. Father Vincent briefed us about the history of the Devlali Parish Church. At 1 pm, we had a delicious lunch in the presbytery. After lunch, we climbed atop to the Temple Hill and visited the park. It was a refreshing place and moment for recreation. We spent spent the time for sharing, games, and photographs.

At 3.15 pm, we moved to St. Patrick Convent, and were warmly welcomed by the FHIC nuns who also served us tea and snacks. At 4.30 pm, we left Devlali. We thanksed Father Pius and the nuns with a small token of appreciation. We reached home at 5.15 pm, ending an enjoyable and successful outing, with an Adoration service.
