Christ the King Church Dakor conducted a 03-day First Holy Communion and Confirmation Shibir [Camp] from 18- 20 November 2021, for its parish children, numbering 16 young boys and girls. The main aim of the camp was to help the children grow in their love for Jesus and to help them to deepen their faith.

A variety of sessions were animated for the children in order to fulfil this goal. The sessions included topics such as prayer, the seven sacraments, being in union with the Lord and living a life according to His commandments. The sessions were well-animated by the Salesians, FMA nuns and Catechist Rajubhai. Each day ended with a well animated Holy Eucharist in the evening.

The daily singing class conducted by parishioners Suleman and Harshadbhai, helped the children to praise the Lord through song. Many fun activities were also organised, with creative games and screening of religious movies. The children were also provided the opportunity to avail of the sacrament of reconciliation, through which they experienced the healing love of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

Parish Priest Father Elson Barretto, remarked, “Passing on the faith begins in the family, and it is our duty as elders and especially as religious to handover the faith to the next generation."
