BIS #6479 Celebrating Bapu 2021 at Kawant

To keep alive the memory of the ‘Father of the nation’ and to instil in the students respect for the sacrifice made by him, the Don Bosco High School Kawant, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 04 October 2021. Principal-Father Rixon Nigrel, teachers and 150 students were present for this occasion.

The 01-hour programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp. This was followed by a short introductory note explaining the significance of this occasion. Together with Gandhi Jayanti we also celebrated the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri. One, is the father of the nation and the other was the 2nd Prime Minister of independent India.

Seema Rathwa, a student of class IX delivered a speech in which she spoke about Gandhiji, who played an important part in the freedom struggle. The students of class VI then performed skit portraying the values that Gandhiji stood for during his lifetime. Towards the end Head-Girl Payal Rathwa and Assistant Head-Boy Harshad Rathwa, organised a quiz for all the students on the life of Gandhi. Teacher Bhumika then addressed the students congratulating the students for their participation and enthusiasm. Teacher Bhumika played the song Vaishnava Jan To a favourite of Gandhiji.
