Don Bosco School, Chhotaudepur, inaugurated its Annual Sports Week today, marked by a blend of athletic excellence and vibrant school spirit. The event showcased the perfect mix of tradition and innovation, with the Gujarati Medium School celebrating its 34th annual sports day and the English Medium School commemorating its 3rd.

The ceremony commenced with the symbolic lighting of the torch, a gesture that set the tone for the energetic and competitive day ahead. The chief guest, Nimeshbhai Patel, an alumnus of the school, and the special guest, Urmilaben Rathwa, also an alumna and currently serving as Range Forest Officer in Panvad, graced the occasion with their presence. Their inspiring words motivated the students to strive for excellence, both on and off the field.

The sports dhamaka featured an array of events catering to students across all age groups. Track events included the highly anticipated 100m and 200m sprints, as well as thrilling relay races, segmented into sub-junior, junior, middle, and senior categories. Field events like long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus throw saw enthusiastic participation and fierce competition.

Adding a cultural and teamwork dimension, group activities such as pyramid building, group exercises, and the daring fire jump captivated the audience. The lively tug-of-war between brothers and sisters brought out the spirit of fellowship, while the precisely executed march past performances by all four teams highlighted discipline and unity.

The day ran seamlessly under the expert guidance of Principal Fr Cedric Sankul sdb, Rector & School Manager Fr George Carlos sdb, and event coordinator Dashrath Sir. The faculty and staff played pivotal roles in ensuring the event's success, further fostering a sense of community within the school.

The Annual Sports Week at Don Bosco School is more than just a display of athletic valour; it is a celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and the indomitable spirit of youth. As the week progresses, students continue to shine, fueled by determination and the unwavering support of their mentors and peers.
