BIS #7541 Women’s Day Celebration at Don Bosco Chhotaudepur

On March 22, 2025, Lok Seva Kendra, a social wing of Don Bosco Chhotaudepur, in collaboration with Aradhna Sadan Sisters, organized a grand celebration to mark Women’s Day for women from remote villages across the Chhotaudepur District. The event, centered on the theme of "Women Empowerment," saw the enthusiastic participation of 357 women. 

The program began at 9 a.m. with a warm welcome extended to all participants, followed by a series of engaging fete games. Many women actively took part in these games, relishing the moments of fun and camaraderie. In parallel, a special time was allotted for women to adorn their hands with mehendi designs, to showcase their creativity and artistic expression. The cultural program commenced at 11 a.m., beginning with a vibrant procession dance. The event saw the lighting of the lamp, by the management and trustees, after which the girls from Aradhna Sadan performed a captivating prayer dance. 

The dignitaries, including the chief guest, were formally felicitated and presented with tokens of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the welfare and empowerment of women. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Mrs Kalpana Rathva, the President of Taluka Panchayat, delivered an inspiring address. She commended the organizers for hosting such a meaningful celebration and urged women to take bold steps toward becoming self-reliant and independent. Mrs Rathva also highlighted the various rights and government schemes available for women’s welfare, empowering the participants with important knowledge and resources.

Fr George Carlos, in his address, welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful celebration. He underscored how such events open new avenues for women to realize their independence and potential. A resource person from the Government Women’s Cell further briefed the women about various state and central government schemes designed to support them. She emphasized the importance of maintaining good health amidst the responsibilities that women often shoulder within their families. She also urged women to adapt to modern technologies, ensuring they stay competitive and independent in the 21st century.

Cultural performances followed, with women from three villages presenting traditional dances that showcased various aspects of the Rathva Culture, enriching the event with local heritage and pride. The celebration culminated at 2 p.m. with a delicious lunch, followed by a lively traditional timli dance that brought the entire gathering together in joy and unity. The event was a resounding success, leaving the participants elated and deeply appreciative of the opportunity to connect with women from other villages. The women expressed their gratitude towards the management of Don Bosco and Aradhna Sadan for organizing this meaningful Women's Day celebration.
