BIS #6037 BOSCO BOYS' HOME BONFIRE NITE KINDLES FLAMES OF JOY & HOPE

by Father Sunil Pinto for BISMumbai

The continued lockdown is taking its toll on mental and physical health. There is a general rise in anxiety and depression. Public health actions such as social distancing make the isolated lonely. How do we channelize the creativity and energy of our boys here at the institute in such times? was the question that the Bosco Boys' Home management pondered.

Efforts are made to initiate a competitive spirit through sports, games, team-building activities, drama, music and much more. Being within the confines of the institute for almost 04 months now has been stress-inducing. In keeping with the Salesian 'weekend special' tradition, various activities for the boys, including an in-house ‘camp fire’ was organized on Saturday, 11 July 2020. It was a time to unwind and forge bonds of friendship through fun, laughter and games. Creativity was at its best, with the boys vying for top spots in the different competitions organized through the evening.

“I am enchanted by the treasure-trove of such talent in this institute," remarked Father Diego Nunes while evaluating the competitions. This event was indeed a ‘fun-filled stopgap’ amidst the gloom of the pandemic.
