To initiate the students to contemplate what career option they wish to choose, the Vocational Guidance Commission of the Gujarat region organized a seminar titled ‘Career Marg’ on 08 October 2021, at Don Bosco High School, Kawant. The animator was Father Mayank Parmar, Rector of Don Bosco, Kapadvanj. A total of 100 students participated in this seminar.

The programme began with Principal Father Rixson Nigrel, introducing the speaker of the day. Father Parmar then conducted a short quiz to interact with the students. Later, he connected the questions from the quiz to their career options. He then focused on the main topic: Career Guidance. In his talk, he said, “My career should help you to get these three things: money, satisfaction and happiness.” “Interests,” he added “together with skills, values and personality are important steps to be followed by students in order to check one’s compatibility with the career choice.”

Offering examples from real life incidents he triggered the students to ask questions relevant to their career. Vivek raised a question with regard to his career option saying, “I want to become a pilot. Where should I start?” Father Parmar offered a number of possibilities available for someone who wishes to become a pilot reinstating the need to follow the four important steps to check one’s compatibility. Harshad Rathwa raised a question about the engineering career to which Father Parmar replied with the varied options available under the engineering profession.

Towards the end of the seminar, Father Nigrel thanked the speaker for guiding the students and igniting their curiosity and enthusiasm. The programme culminated at 9.00am.
