BIS #7225 Acting Workshop by Mr. Joy Giri at Stellar Don Bosco Academy

An acting workshop was conducted at the Stellar Don Bosco Academy on July 20, 2024, featuring the renowned trainer, actor, singer, songwriter, and author-in-progress, Mr Joy Giri. Known for his work in films like "Jagga Jasoos" and "Batti Gul Meter Chalu," and his collaborations in advertisements with sports legends such as Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Mr Giri brought a wealth of experience to the event. His musical compositions, including "Kissa," "Yeh Barishe," and "Piya Piya," added a creative backdrop to the workshop.
The workshop aimed to impart knowledge and skills in dialogue delivery, body language, screen ethics, and speech techniques. Fr Barnabe D'Souza warmly welcomed Joy Giri, acknowledging his esteemed presence and the significance of his expertise in the realms of acting, singing, and songwriting. He highlighted the allure of the acting industry, describing it as the pinnacle of aspiration for many, where the intersection of the big screen and stage captivates the dreams of countless aspiring artists. His opening remarks set a tone of anticipation and respect for the insightful session ahead, emphasizing the importance of embracing artistic pursuits with fervor and commitment.
Mr Giri set a welcoming tone for the workshop by singing a song. He then proceeded to share insights on various aspects of acting, engaging the participants in an interactive session. He demonstrated techniques, called upon students to explain concepts, and encouraged questions and answers throughout the workshop. Mr Giri also shared a personal song he had written for his late father, adding an emotional dimension to the session. Additionally, he showcased his creativity by composing a song on the spot using words suggested by the attendees, demonstrating his spontaneous artistic abilities.
Drawing from his extensive experience in the industry, Mr Giri provided valuable perspectives on the entertainment field. He emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive community among artists, believing it to be crucial for collective success. This philosophy was underscored as he provided opportunities for individual participants to showcase their talents.
