‘Bosco Fest 2025’ a two-day Football extravaganza was held at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul. DBN hosted its much-anticipated annual sports event, Bosco Fest 2025, on the 26 and 27 of April. This year’s fest featured a two-day football tournament that brought together budding athletes from across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad. The event was held on the school’s ground and was divided into two sessions each day—one in the morning and one in the evening—allowing for smooth execution and participation.
The fest commenced with an inaugural ceremony led by Rev Fr Barnabe Dsouza, the Rector at Don Bosco Nerul. In his address, Fr Dsouza spoke passionately about the rich history of sports at DBN, highlighting the school’s consistent achievements and its commitment to fostering sporting excellence. "Year after year, our students have brought home numerous awards, bringing laurels and immense pride to the Don Bosco family," he remarked.
The event was graced by several dignitaries including Rev Fr Shekar Mariadas, the Administrator and Vice Principal of the school, and Mrs Kalyani Chaudhary, the school’s Principal. Also present were the section supervisors, staff members, and enthusiastic students who turned out in large numbers to support their peers.
Following the inaugural address, Principal Mrs Chaudhary officially declared the football tournament open, sparking a wave of excitement among the players and spectators alike.
The tournament featured competitions in four age categories: Under-9, Under-11, Under-15, and Under-17. A total of 64 teams participated in the event, making it one of the largest inter-school football tournaments in the region. Schools and sports academies fielded their best players, who showcased exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the matches.
The matches were competitive and thrilling, with players demonstrating commendable technique and determination. The atmosphere was electric as cheers and encouragement echoed around the field. Apart from fostering healthy competition, the tournament also served as a platform for young athletes to learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
In the under 13 Tanay was declared the player of the tournament. The winners were CFC Football club, Kamothe. Don Bosco were the runners up. In the under 17 Samyak was the player of the tournament and the winners were CFC Football club. In the under 15 the winners were YSG football academy, Kharghar. In the under 9 the winners were Soccera Football Club.
Bosco Fest 2025 was not just a sports event; it was a celebration of youth, talent, and community spirit. The school’s successful organization and the overwhelming participation reaffirm Don Bosco Nerul’s standing as a hub of holistic education and sporting excellence.
