On January 1, 2024, Don Bosco Bhavan Nashik community organized a Salesian Family Day for all the neighbouring Salesian communities, at the Parish hall. The essence of the gathering was to cherish the togetherness and foster a good relationship with each other. The gathering consisted of five different communities of Nashik.
The gathering was organized by three assistants, Br Steve Rodrigues, the assistant of Salesian Training Institute; Br Mark Suching, the assistant of Divyadaan; and Sr Jaya, the assistant of Sacred Heart Training Center. The Salesian Family Day started at 6.00 p.m. with an innovative division of teams at the entrance of the Don Bosco Bhavan community. Followed by a brief prayer service and a welcome speech delivered by Fr Rixon Nigrel, the Principal of Don Bosco School and Junior College.
The gathering was tailored with various creative games and fun-filled activities. The event was successful primarily because of the participation of the participants. The participants enthusiastically participated in every activity entrusted to them. The event ended with a grand dinner. After dinner, there was time for a dance session which all participated with much enthusiasm.
Then, a Good Night message was delivered by Sr Supriya, the FMA Novice Mistress, where she stressed on the message delivered by Pope Francis during the opening of the Holy Door in the prison, that we should open the door of our hearts to each other. Sr Supriya further concluded by saying thus, “We should not only open the doors of our hearts, but we should also open the windows, ventilators, and our whole heart.” The get-together ended at 10.00 p.m. with the prize distribution.
All the participants were very glad and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the three organizers for animating the gathering wonderfully and for their hard work in bringing the get-together to its height.
