BIS #7322 From Dreams to Deeds: Cultural Day At Don Bosco Matunga
by Alareen Rodrigues for BISMumbai
The Primary Section of Don Bosco Matunga organized a cultural day on September 21, 2024. The theme of the event was 'From Dreams to Deeds'. This event gave the students a platform to showcase their talents, creativity and dedication.
The students showcased their talents in singing and dancing through a well-orchestrated welcome song and a graceful prayer dance. As part of the Cultural Day program, students also enacted a skit based on the story of Dr. Abdul Kalam. The skit brought to life the experiences Dr Kalam had as a young dreamer boy and how he had to overcome many hardships and obstacles in order to achieve his goals. One of the powerful messages evoked from the enactment was that of being resilient and working hard while always believing in oneself no matter what the circumstances are.
Basing himself on the theme of the Cultural day, Fr Godfrey D'Souza shared a few words expressing how parents can become attentive listeners and allow their children to dream. He encouraged the parents to support and guide their children in achieving their dreams.
Mrs Anita Philip, the Principal, expressed her happiness and praised the teachers for organizing an excellent show. She added that she was truly impressed with the energy and dynamism shown by the young students of the Primary section.
Mrs Vailena D'Souza, a parent present at the occasion, said that the message of working hard to make one's dream come true resonated with her as she watched the entire program with rapt attention.
The day concluded on a high note, with the students grateful for the opportunity to showcase their talents while also harnessing new ones. The school aims to promote such programs to help in the integral growth of the students that come to the institute.
