BIS #6566 Don Bosco Lonavla celebrates Republic Day
by Cleric Ambrose Monteiro for BISMumbai
Every year Don Bosco Lonavla celebrates Republic Day with great zeal and zest. The traditional Republic day celebration was not possible because of the continuing COVID-19 Lockdown situation. The 75th Republic day celebration was held virtually with lot of enthusiasm. Though virtual, students participated wholeheartedly to show their love towards their country.
The Chief Guest was the Rector of Don Bosco Lonavla - Father Blany Pinto. He unfurled the flag in the school quadrangle at 8.30 a.m. All the staff members, teaching and non-teaching gave a salute to the flag and sang the National anthem, followed by a patriotic song. Then followed the virtual cultural programme – speeches in English and Hindi, patriotic song in Hindi, mime act by the students, reading of the Preamble, speeches by the Chief Guest and Principal-Father. Ranson D'Souza. The Vote fo Thanks was proposed by William Siddapur.
