by Brother Vishal Waghmare for BISMumbai
Teachers' Day is celebrated in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on 05 September, a philosopher, and teacher. Since it was a Sunday, the celebration for teachers day took place on 04 September, at Shelter Don Bosco. The students of Shelter Don Bosoc were indeed grateful for their committed teachers who go out of their way to shape their lives for the future.
On this occasion, the boys at Shelter Don Bosco organized a short felicitation program for the teachers and educators who teach our boys to live as good human beings. An energetic dance performance was put on by both the tiny tots and the senior boys. There was an address delivered by master Yusuf who appirected the teachers for their hard work and for their dedication in teaching them and looking after their academic studies. The Street Rock band of Shelter Don Bosco performed ‘You raise me up’ a band piece dedicated to all our teachers. Fr Rector appreciated and thanked all the teachers for their commitment and for the effective presence that they have in the lives of the students of Shelter Don Bosoc.
On behalf of the teachers and staff, Ms Swapnali thanked all the students for the beautiful programme that was organised. To wind up the teachers day celebration the staff enjoyed the games that were organized by the student leaders. The program concluded with the boys expressing their gratitude through special handmade greeting cards which were presented to the teachers. Shelter Don Bosco wished all its teachers a fruitful and enjoyable experience in their teaching and for the change they bring in the lives of the boys.
