The Salesian Cooperator Yerwada Unit, in collaboration with Sacred Heart Parish Yerwada and AFA SAMFORD Football Club, proudly presented the "BOSCO CUP 2024," a 2nd and 3rd Division Tournament under the Poona District Football Association (PDFA). This exciting event took place from October 26 to November 3, 2024, showcasing a week of intense football action and community engagement.

The tournament was initiated and meticulously managed by the Salesian Cooperators of the Yerwada Unit, in close cooperation with the priests of the parish. This collaboration ensured a seamless and well-organized event that highlighted the spirit of teamwork and dedication.

The grand finale on November 3 was a highlight of the Bosco Cup 2024, attracting a host of distinguished guests. The chief guests included Mr. Ramesh Bagwe (Ex-Home Minister), Mr. Raju Adhav (Managing Director - Diya Realty), Mr. Pyarelal Chowdhury (Vice President - PDFA), Mr. Pradeep Pardeshi (Secretary - PDFA), Dr. Manoj Durairaj and Fr. Michael Fernandes (Parish Priest - Sacred Heart Parish Yerwada). Their presence added prestige to the event and underscored the importance of football in fostering community spirit.

A special segment of the tournament was dedicated to honoring past football stars of Don Bosco School Yerwada. These individuals were recognized with mementos for their dedication to the sport, celebrating their contributions and inspiring the next generation of footballers. The event saw a gathering of past pupils and Salesian Cooperators, creating a nostalgic and festive atmosphere.

The organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to their Salesian Delegate, Fr. Michael Fernandes, for his unwavering support and to their Salesian Coordinator, Mr. Cyril Asirvadam, for his exceptional coordination. Their efforts were instrumental in making the Bosco Cup 2024 a resounding success.

The tournament concluded with a joyful dinner, bringing together the Salesian Cooperators of Yerwada in a celebration of camaraderie and achievement. The Bosco Cup 2024 was more than just a football tournament; it was a testament to the power of community and the unifying spirit of sports.
