International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2025, at Shelter Don Bosco, Wadala, Mumbai together with the staff, students and Volunteers. The hour-long session was led by Mrs Kalpana, our staff member and a certified yoga instructor, assisted by three of our own youngsters who have been undergoing weekly yoga training.
The morning unfolded with gentle breathing techniques and stretching routines, gradually moving into warm-ups and foundational asanas. The session concluded with a calming round of shavasana, offering a few minutes of stillness and relaxation that visibly rejuvenated everyone present.
For our youngsters who practice yoga regularly at Shelter, it was an extended and enriching experience. For many staff members and volunteers, however, it was an awakening moment—an opportunity to stretch their bodies, relieve minor aches and pains, and discover a new path to personal wellness.
As we closed the session, the silence in the room spoke volumes. In that collective calm, the spirit of yoga—unity, discipline and inner peace—truly came alive.
