Don Bosco Academy, Nerul, hosted a two-day free basic photography workshop on 17 and 18 November 2023 in collaboration with Canon. This engaging event, which welcomed 42 participants, aimed to nurture a love for photography and equip amateur photographers with the essential skills to embark on their creative journeys.
Guided by the experienced trio of Mr Sachin Kambli, Ms Priyanka Chavan, and Mr Shashank Shinde from Canon, the workshop unfolded with an enlightening introductory session on the first day. The team provided attendees with a glimpse into the captivating world of photography. The session delved into the art and science behind capturing moments, emphasising the unification of creativity and technical proficiency. Participants were introduced to the latest advancements in photography technology, setting the stage for an inspiring exploration of visual storytelling.
The enthusiasm continued on the second day with a hands-on practical session that allowed participants to translate theory into practice. Armed with Canon cameras and accessories, students engaged in guided exercises, group activities, and discussions under the expert guidance of the Canon instructors. The practical session not only honed technical skills but also fostered a collaborative and dynamic learning environment.
The workshop drew a diverse group of participants from different parts of Mumbai. College students, eager to expand their creative horizons, mingled with photography enthusiasts seeking to refine their craft. The diversity of backgrounds contributed to a rich tapestry of perspectives and ideas, creating a melting pot of creativity. The resounding success of the workshop was echoed in the feedback from participants. Dr Rajesh Nair, one of the attendees, remarked, “Don Bosco Academy once again proved its worth in imparting high-quality skills by collaborating with Canon. I grow by being a part of the academy.”
The Academy has announced plans to continue its dedication to offering training in photography skills. Starting in January 2024, it will offer regular photography classes, providing a structured and comprehensive learning experience. This initiative is a commitment to nurturing talent and providing a platform for individuals passionate about the art of photography and media.
As the echoes of shutter clicks resounded through the academy halls, it was clear that a new generation of photographers had been born. With plans for regular classes on the horizon, the academy is poised to become a hub for aspiring photographers, fostering a community where passion meets proficiency.
