BIS #6377 St. Dominic Savio celebrated at Dakor Don Bosco

by Father Ajay Shelke for BISMumbai

Don Bosco Dakor celebrated the feast of St. Dominic Savio with its teachers with great devotion and enthusiasm on 06 July 2021.

At 8:30 am the teachers of the Gujarati Medium School gathered together in honour of the young saint and participated in a meaningful prayer service, with melodious bhajans and reading of the Word of God. In his message to the teachers, Rector-Father Pravin Makwana, exhorted the assembly to follow closely the great ideals of the teenage saint Dominic Savio. The teachers then planted a few saplings in the campus as a sign of their commitment towards caring for God’s creation.

At 10:15 am a prayer service was organised for the staff of the English Medium School, anchored by Jigna Patelia. She helped those gathered to reflect more closely on the idea of holiness by doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way. Brother Royston Colaco addressed the teachers, saying, “As educators in a Salesian School we need to help and guide our young people to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, in the way shown by Don Bosco, and as lived by Dominic Savio”

Tea, snacks and an entertaining game of volleyball enhanced this meaningful celebration amidst the pandemic situation.
