BIS #6136 SDGs Webinar for Vadodara Parul University Social Work Faculty

Mumbai Salesians' Father Mayank Parmar-Director DRISTI and Amrutdhara Kapadvanj, was the key resource animator for a Webinar on Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] organised by the Faculty of Social Work of Parul University, Vadodara. The webinar was attended by 80 registered student-participants, invited guests and faculty professors on 31 August 2020, and was live-streamed on the University Facebook page, with 151 face-time viewers. Dr. [Prof.] Christina Parmar moderated the webinar, while Dr. [Prof.] Sunita Jolly-Dean Parul University Social Work Faculty, introduced Father Parmar and welcomed the other invited guest dignitaries attending the webinar.

Father Parmar led the participants through a 50-minute powerpoint presentation, into the context, background and the detailed explanation of the 17 SDGs, with questions for reflection, food for thought and one line of action at individual level. The 05 key elements of people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership were clarified reference to the special features and characteristics of universality, integration and transformation which makes the SDGs more unique, special and different from the Millennium Development Goals [MDGs]. Questions were raised by the participants and pertinent clarifications were provided to the queries

The conclusion was a surprise, with the Webinar moderator summarising the entire proceedings, and the Dean-Dr. Jolly requesting the entire faculty to collaborate with DRISTI Don Bosco Kapadvanj for purposes of field work internship and block placement of their students.
