BIS #5930 DAKOR DON BOSCO ORGANISES COVID-19 RELIEF IN 11 VILLAGES

by Rajubhai Vankar for BISMumbai

As the number of COVID-19 affected people continues to rise steadily in various parts of Gujarat, the common people are stuck in their homes during these days of the lockdown. In keeping with the rules and directives of the local administration enforced by order of the Gujarat State government people have to remain in their homes and cannot venture out.

In the Phase 01 of the COVID-19 lockdown, the Dakor Salesian Society was unable to reach out to the villages with any relief aid, due to the lockdown regulations. In Phase 02 however, the Dakor Salesian Society led by Father Mathew Katara and the Catechist Rajubhai took the initiative to reach out to those in need. Hence, free ration was distributed to the poor and needy families. The relief outreach assisted the widows of the 11 villages surrounding Dakor township. 42 kits of 5kg rice, 1.5kg dal and 01 Dettol-soap each, were distributed in the Dakor Parish zones.

Don Bosco Dakor is committed to pray for and support the poorest of the poor, in this present crisis.
