BIS #7158 Scouts and Guides Investiture Ceremony at DB Nashik

On 23 February 2024, Don Bosco School, Nashik, held the Scouts and Guides Investiture Ceremony marking a significant milestone in the journey of students from Grades 8 to 10. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, Mr Srinivas Murkute - Commissioner for Nashik District Scouts Organization, and Mrs Kavita Wagh- Commissioner for Nashik District Guides Organization, alongside Mr Thorat- a distinguished Scout official from Nashik District. The ceremony was also graced by the esteemed presence of the management.

The event commenced with Scout Master Santosh Lahane enlightening the audience about the rich history of the Scout movement, tracing its origins back to Lord Baden Powell. In a serene atmosphere of prayer and reverence, the Scouts and Guides of Don Bosco School then reverberated the atmosphere with their prayer song. Following this, the Scout flag was hoisted by the Chief Guests, accompanied by the singing of the flag song with utmost reverence. Subsequently, the investiture ceremony unfolded as all new Scouts and Guides were vested with their respective insignias by the Chief Guests and other dignitaries.

The pinnacle of recognition came as Master Shahu Patekar clinched the prestigious Best Scout award, while Miss Khushi Dhada secured the coveted Best Guide award, embodying the spirit of excellence and dedication within the Scout and Guide community.

Mrs Wagh, in her address to the Scouts and Guides, provided invaluable insights into their roles and responsibilities. She elucidated the Scout law, guided them on Scout songs, and expounded on flag hoisting protocols, underscoring the core values of loyalty, compassion, hard work, and character building intrinsic to the Scout and Guide movement.

Expressing gratitude, Fr Cedrick Sankul - the Principal, extended heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Guests and the School Scout Masters for orchestrating a commendable investiture ceremony. He also commended the Scouts and Guides for their commitment and urged them to uphold the values instilled through Scout training, wishing them success in their future endeavours.

The Scouts and Guides Investiture Ceremony at Don Bosco Nashik not only celebrated the achievements of its participants but also reaffirmed the enduring legacy of the Scout and Guide movement in shaping individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
