The Primary Section of St Joseph’s High School, Wadala, celebrated Father’s Day with a meaningful and joyful programme on June 24, 2025.
The celebration was attended by special guests including Fr James Nigrel, Rector and Manager, Fr Solomon Rapol, Principal, Tr Smitha Lewis, Headteacher of the Primary Section, and five fathers from each class from Stds I to IV, who were invited to join in the occasion.
Tr Viancy Fernandes, in her address, reflected on the vital role fathers paly in a child's life - as providers, protectors, supporters, and guides. She spoke of the selfless love that fathers show through quiet acts of kindness and sacrifice.
Students expressed their affection through a heartfelt dance performance, holding placards with the words Appa, Papa, Baba, and Dad—endearing names by which they call their fathers at home. The energy and emotion of the performance added warmth to the occasion.
To further engage the parents, the school organised fun games. A special on-stage round for the fathers was conducted by Sir Avinash Gracious, giving them a moment to relax and enjoy the celebration.
In his message to the gathering, Fr Nigrel shared a touching thought: “God cannot be everywhere, and that’s why He gave us daddies—to show us His love.” He encouraged the students to always respect and be grateful to their parents, and to return their love through small acts of appreciation and kindness.
The words on the stage backdrop—“Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad”—captured the emotion of the morning and reminded everyone present of the importance of family and gratitude.
