BIS #7078 ‘Safety First’ at DBVPK Chinchwad

Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra (DBVPK), Chinchwad, recently hosted an educational seminar on 30 September 2023, focusing on road safety and fire hazard awareness. The event was graced by the presence of Mr Anand Kamble, a seasoned executive from Honda Motors Corporation India, Western Region, dedicated to promoting awareness in these vital areas.

Mr Kamble, a respected figure in Honda's safety education department, has dedicated his career to advocating road safety. He has conducted numerous training sessions, instilling a deep understanding of the importance of road safety. His expertise extends to educating individuals on fire drills and essential safety measures during fire hazards.

During the seminar, Mr Kamble shared valuable insights with the students. He explained the meanings of various road signs and emphasised safe postures for driving cars or riding bikes. This knowledge not only prevents injuries in accidents but also ensures long-term well-being. His guidance laid the foundation for responsible and defensive driving practices among the students.

Furthermore, Mr Kamble provided detailed instructions on fire safety. He discussed different types of fire extinguishers and their specific uses, explaining how they are designed to combat various fire categories effectively. This knowledge will empower the students to respond confidently and appropriately during fire emergencies, potentially saving lives and property.

The seminar also included practical demonstrations. A practical demonstration of fire extinguisher usage was conducted on the school campus. Mr Kamble also addressed the correct postures and safety measures while driving vehicles. He demonstrated how incorrect postures could lead to severe injuries in the future. 

Om Harne, a second-year student of motor mechanics, was very appreciative of the initiative taken by the institute to educate the students on the importance of road safety. Nicholas Meyers, a first-year student, said that he found the seminar informative especially the guidelines when driving vehicles. He felt that many more young people should be given this awareness.

In conclusion, the seminar at DBVPK was a significant initiative in promoting road safety and fire hazard awareness among students. The knowledge imparted during this event will undoubtedly establish a foundation for responsible behaviour on roads and effective responses to fire emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all.
