By Neelam Rodrigues for BIS Mumbai

The first activity of The Savio Club was successfully conducted on September 18, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, at Don Bosco High School, Borivali. The club, which aims to foster vocation among young boys, brought together around 30 enthusiastic participants eager to engage in a meaningful and joyful session.

The event commenced with an opening prayer led by Fr Manuel, who thanked the Lord for the opportunity to come together in His name and for the chance to reflect on their shared purpose. His words set a spiritual tone for the morning, reminding the boys of the club's central mission: to explore their faith and vocation.

Following the prayer, a short but uplifting praise and worship service was held, where the boys joined in song and prayer, experiencing a sense of community and spiritual renewal.

The second half of the session shifted focus to the much-anticipated fun activity – a lively game of football. Under the guidance of Fr Evangelo D’Souza, the boys were divided into teams and engaged in a spirited match that lasted for a good hour. Fr Evangelo ensured the game was enjoyable and inclusive, with every boy participating enthusiastically. The energy on the field was contagious, and as the game neared its end, the boys were reluctant to stop, asking to extend the game to make the most of their time together at school.

After the game, the group gathered for a small fellowship, sharing snacks and enjoying each other’s company. This moment of camaraderie allowed the boys to bond further, making the experience even more fulfilling.

The session concluded at 10:15 am with a closing prayer of thanksgiving and blessings, leaving everyone with a sense of joy and anticipation for future gatherings of The Savio Club. The boys departed with renewed enthusiasm, looking forward to more such engaging and spiritually enriching activities.
