BIS #6228 DBC-BMS celebrates 'Advent Monday' tradition

by Karen Rodrigues with Father Mario Vaz for BISMumbai

'Advent Monday' is an age-old tradition celebrated by Boscoites, each monday in advent. This is to get into the feeling of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus, by praying and singing together.

This year the Don Bosco College- Department of Bachelors in Management Studies (DBC-BMS) celebrated it in a new old-fashioned way! The idea consisted of an Instagram post where the significance of the advent candle was explained with a small prayer on the respective themes.

The highlight for this Monday was the ‘'deed for the week’ with a pledge to work on a particular deed for the rest of the week. Pope Francis' Laudato Si was the basic inspirational text, which emphasises 'care for creation'. The 'deed for the week’ shed some light on environment conservation.

Students from each batch portrayed values of the advent-month in unique ways. Even in toubled and difficult times as now, DBC-BMS foind a way to celebrate!
