We're thrilled to share an extraordinary achievement within our ranks that not only celebrates individual excellence but also brings immense pride to our institution. Mr. Nitin Dalvi, our EV Trainer and a past alumni from the trade of Motor Mechanic Vehicle, recently completed the rigorous BMW L4 EV Master Training Programme, emerging with the coveted L4 certification – an accomplishment setting a new benchmark for technical expertise.
The BMW L4 EV Master Training Programme is a testament to cutting-edge automotive technology. Nitin described the training as an intensive deep dive into electric vehicles, covering critical areas like Battery Management, motors and assembly, ECU and various models, power control units, and advanced EV vehicles, including Tesla models. A significant 80% of the program was dedicated to hands-on training, with 15 days of practical work on four BMW EV variants, sessions often extending into the night. What he enjoyed most was the distinct "nature and style of training" that pushed boundaries.
Navigating the program wasn't without its challenges. Nitin candidly shared the pressure of training alongside participants from diverse nationalities and varying work practices. This challenge ultimately strengthened his resolve and adaptability. The program significantly enhanced his skills in working according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and assembling major EV parts. He demonstrated this practical application by successfully undertaking "5S training on a live vehicle," showcasing the immediate relevance of his learning.
The impact of this L4 certification on Nitin's career is profound. He now holds a "master trainer" status, which he believes will significantly advance his career opportunities within our organization and the broader industry. His achievement is even more remarkable considering the highly competitive environment: out of 220 participants, only 11 qualified for the competition. From this select group, Nitin and a Brazilian national were the distinguished L4 winners, with Nitin proudly being the only Indian among the top achievers. This not only elevates his individual profile but also brings significant recognition to our institute, Don Bosco ITI.
The culmination of this demanding journey was a memorable felicitation ceremony at the BMW, Verna plant. The event was graced by prominent figures including CEO Vikram Pahwa, Ms. Priyanka Raut, the ARAI management team, and representatives from Mercedes Benz, underscoring the achievement's significance. Nitin was honored with a trophy, an individual certification, and a certificate for our institute. A prize money, yet to be disclosed, awaits deposit in his account. A particularly touching moment was the special mention of his achievement, especially given his age and relatively less experience. Nitin described the feeling as "elated," emphasizing that this triumph is "a recognition to our institute more than individual," a testament to his five years of hard work. The "overwhelming moment" when his name was announced as an L4 winner will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory.
When asked for advice for others considering similar advanced skill training, Nitin wisely recommended, "Get your basics right before you get with hard technical skills with industry experience." His journey from expecting an L2 to achieving an L4 is a powerful reminder that with dedication and passion, dreams can indeed come true.
Nitin’s accomplishment is a beacon of inspiration for all of us, showcasing the heights that can be reached through continuous learning and unwavering commitment. This remarkable feat by our EV Trainer and alumnus not only highlights Nitin’s dedication but also stands as a proud testament to the quality of training and foundation provided by Don Bosco ITI. We extend our warmest congratulations to Mr. Nitin Dalvi on this exceptional achievement!
