BIS #6761 ‘Nation First, Always First’ at DB Nerul

The celebration of 75 years of freedom was held on 15 August 2022, with great zeal and zest. The theme for the programme was Nation First, Always First.
The programme started with the flag hoisting ceremony with great enthusiasm and gusto in the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr Nadim Memon (Sports Ground Consultant & Curator), the management, teachers and students.
The spirit of Independence Day was aroused through the Flag Hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem and the Flag Song. The programme was led forward by the students of the Secondary Section enacting on the various unsung heroes and their contributions to our freedom struggle. The students of the Senior Secondary section then created a magical ambience through an orchestra performance. The students of the Upper Primary section performed a Mime act depicting different leaders and highlighting their struggle and fight for freedom. Dance Performances by the students of the Upper Primary and Secondary section left everyone breathless.
The chief Guest was felicitated with a token of appreciation by the Rector, Fr Barnabe D’Souza. The Chief Guest, Mr Nadim Memon, emphasised on being fit and healthy by engaging oneself in outdoor games and activities. In his message he advised students that in order to achieve goals in life one must be able to inculcate a habit of self discipline and be consistent with one’s aim in life.
In her vote of thanks, the Principal, Mrs Sangita Bhattacharya, praised the teachers and students for their energetic performance in bringing out the spirit of patriotism. The programme concluded with the school anthem.
