The first local vocation committee meeting of the Borivli unit for the year 2022-23, took place at St John Bosco Parish on 4 July 2022. Fr Velasli Bandya, the vocation promoter of the Province headed the meet. The Rector, Fr Solomon Rapol, along with Fr Renold Lemos were also part of the meeting.

The meeting began with Fr Bandya leading the group into prayer. He then welcomed the group and thanked Fr Rapol for all his help rendered through the past two years.

Fr Bandya then gave a brief about the camps held at Lonavla for the apostolic boys and aspirants. He went on to give insights about the various activities held at Lonavla, and finally he spoke about the animators meet that would be held in Lonavla in the months of September and November. He urged all the animators from Borivali to attend this meet.

There was an open discussion on the Plan of Action for vocation promotion. Fr Renold suggested organising camps at school level so that students could get involved and take interest in them. Also, it was suggested that they could have a day of fun activities for the group, and through these activities look out for those interested in the Salesian mission. The possibility of visiting the neighbouring schools and parishes of Gorai and Manori.

Fr Bandya thanked the members for their valuable suggestions and inputs. It was decided that he would celebrate the Eucharist on the third Sunday of every month and this was to be followed by the vocation committee meeting.
