The Don Bosco Basketball Premier League (DBPL) held at Don Bosco High School, Matunga concluded its first season with high-intensity action, thrilling fans and players alike. The competition saw 140 aspiring athletes register for the tryouts, each determined to secure a spot in the league.

The player auction was a key highlight of the tournament. Every team owner and coaches were equipped with a budget of 200,000 points as they bid strategically to build their squads. The auction mandated that each team first acquire a professional player to serve as captain, ensuring a strong mix of experience and fresh talent. By the end of the auction, 96 players had been selected to form the eight competing teams, setting the stage for an intense tournament.

The league was structured into two pools of four teams each, fostering a competitive and dynamic format: Each pool contained four teams, with the top two from each pool advancing to the knockout stage. Every match carried weight as only the top two teams from each pool progressed, intensifying the battle for a spot in the finals.

After a series of gripping round-robin matches, the tournament advanced to its knockout stage, where the top teams from each pool faced off in high-pressure encounters. The highly anticipated final saw the Gladiators take on the Titans in a nail-biting clash. After an intense battle on the court, the Gladiators emerged victorious, claiming the DBPL championship title.

The tournament highlighted professional leadership, strategic team building and fierce competition. The captains, selected from the pool of professional players, played a crucial role in guiding their teams through challenging matches. The auction process added a unique strategic element, with coaches carefully assembling teams that balanced skill, experience, and emerging talent.
