BIS #5845 SKILL BETTER THAN STRENGTH AT DON BOSCO YERWADA

Mumbai Salesians' Provincial Father Savio Silveira inaugurated the Don Bosco Skill Development Academy (DBSDA), a new venture of Don Bosco Junior College Yerwada during his visi to the institute. The students of Std. XI will undergo a 09 month skill training programme comprising Dance, Music (Vocal / Band), Dramatics, Media Communication and Event Management

DBSDA will also house the Life Skill Workshops in which students will receive hands-on training in plumbing, carpentry, cooking/baking, art/design, hair and beauty styling, gadgets and electronics repairing, gardening, robotics, audio/video editing, graphic designing, photography and other soft skills. The training will be imparted by professionals from Trinity School of Performing Arts founded by Terrence Joseph, which functions in collaboration with Trinity College, London.

Principal, Father Bosco D’ Mello said, “I am indeed delighted by this new venture, and to witness the meaningful growth of the Junior College, aiding youth to develop in all spheres of life." Supervisor Leo D’Souza an integral part of this initiative commented, “Learning a skill makes a student well-equipped to take up challenges of life and be confident in any field they are placed." College Captain Misbah Kapdi said, “Don Bosco College is the place where a student develops his skills and learns to be a better person each day."

Father Silviera appreciated the efforts and motivated the students saying "learn these skills with joy in your heart and be a cheerful Don Bosco student always."
